Bay Motorsports, Inc. was started in April, 1987 by Randy Piontek.   At the time, Randy was building race cars to compete on the ASA circuit.   Dave Watson was the first driver to take the wheel of a Bay Motorsport's car.   Since then Scott Hansen, Steve Holzhausen, Rich Bickle Jr., Bobby Dotter, Rick Beebe, and Matt Kenseth have driven for Randy and his Bay Motorsports team.

The cars saw sponsors such as Budweiser, Blue Max, Dewalt, and LubeTech with those drivers behind the wheel.   In 1997, Randy had enough racing and decided to take a break and sold most of his racing equipment in exchange for a cabin in Door County.   However, in 2001 racing fever returned to the Piontek family and Bay Motorsports was brought back.   Most recently, Randy's son, Brett, has taken the driver's seat of the Bay Motorsport's race cars.
